Week five ended?!!? Already???!!? This week we embarked on the brand new journey of WP2. It makes sense now in retrospect how we did WP1 as our first major assignment, because of how we analyzed rhetoric within various works. WP2 also seems to be dealing with rhetoric, I guess everything deals with rhetoric though. I know that we haven’t covered everything we need to know about WP2 yet, but so far it seems more challenging than the last assignment we did. Also the fact that the word count is higher is a bit intimidating to me. The problem with a larger word count is that I get so caught up in writing the sufficient amount of words that I lose track of the main ideas of a paper, so I hope I don’t get distracted by the word count. The activities that we did in class that involved breaking down words such as moves and how different people describe was helpful. I think writing PB2B is going to be more manageable after those exercises
I also like that we started brainstorming ideas for WP2 so early. I think the longer I think about an idea the more comfortable I feel writing about it. The activity made it clear how different disciplines would do research on different topics. Although, I am still not sure what I am going to be writing about. I think the hardest part for me for this is going to be finding academic resources from different disciplines about the same topic. Lucky for me, there are thousands of research papers available I just have to dig through them to find a topic that I am interested in. What I noticed people did was pick disciplines that are closely related, such as psychology and anthropology. Also, many people chose sociology as one of the disciplines in the exercise.
